Why Choose Us
Just ask our clients! They will tell you that Harmony Family Dog Training specialists quickly identify and address triggers to problem behaviors and provide user-friendly approaches that work. Our canine training and behavior modification services are tailored to each family’s unique goal for how they want their dog to be part of activities and day-to-day life.
We regularly see dogs who are unhappy and difficult while their owners become more and more frustrated with constant bad behavior. We have designed our family dog training program to improve obedience, fix problem behaviors, and to establish self-sufficient techniques so that you and your family members can sustain a balanced life with your loving companion.
Our Founder’s Story
Growing up in rural Virginia, Carolyn Lewis began training dogs and horses at a very young age and was known in her childhood years as the neighborhood expert on all things canine. She has raised six dogs from puppy to adult and has successfully trained dozens of rescue dogs through Central CA Labrador Retriever Rescue and other Sacramento rescue groups. She and her family live with yellow labs, Booker and Preston, now aged 4 and 2, who have become wonderful training assistants!
Prior to launching Harmony Family Dog Training, Carolyn spent 20 years as a senior executive and people management expert. She holds a BS in biology from William & Mary and a Master’s degree from the Santa Clara University Leavey School. She has studied canine behavior with The Association of Professional Dog Trainers and Tom Davis International. Carolyn is also a certified Pet Partners Therapy Dog Handler. She likes to say “With my experience helping companies manage their workforce coupled with years as a canine trainer I have learned to speak both human AND dog!”
